Leo Rolly Carnando and Bagas Maulana, the Indonesian men’s doubles pair, had to settle for the runner-up title at the All England 2025 after being defeated by the South Korean duo Kim Won-ho and Seo Seung-jae in the final match held at Utilita Arena Birmingham. The Korean pair emerged victorious in two straight games with a score of 21-19, 21-19, dominating the game with their fast drive play, which posed a challenge for Leo and Bagas from the beginning of the match.
In the first game, Kim and Seo took an early lead with a score of 8-2 after Leo failed to return Seo’s sharp smashes. The Korean pair continued their dominance throughout the interval with a score of 11-2. After the break, Leo and Bagas started to fight back, narrowing the gap to 19-17, and even 20-19. However, Kim and Seo remained calm in crucial points and closed the first game with a score of 21-19.
Moving on to the second game, the competition became tighter. Kim and Seo were still in the lead at 11-9 during the interval, but Leo and Bagas managed to level the score to 15-15 after winning four consecutive points. In the closing moments of the match, Leo and Bagas even took the lead with 17-18 and 18-19. However, the pressure from the Korean pair once again made it difficult for them. Kim and Seo’s relentless attacks exploited the gaps in Indonesia’s defense, ultimately securing their victory with a score of 21-19 in the second game.
With this result, Kim and Seo claimed the title of champions in the men’s doubles sector of All England 2025, while Leo and Bagas had to settle for the runner-up position. This victory also marked the end of Indonesia’s dominance in the men’s doubles sector at the All England, following Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto’s back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
