Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah, Indonesia’s mixed doubles badminton pair, faced defeat in the round of 16 of the BWF Tour Super 1000 China Open 2025. The match took place at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou. Despite showcasing a strategy that was well-prepared beforehand, the duo lost to the South Korean pair of Wang Chan and Jeong Na Eun in a thrilling rubber game, with the final score of 21-12, 13-21, 19-21. Amri attributed their loss to a lack of composure during critical moments, especially after securing the lead in the first game. He mentioned that playing too cautiously and not seizing opportunities to attack allowed their opponents to gain confidence and momentum. On the other hand, Nita believed that their defeat was a result of a reluctance to play aggressively, particularly in the second game. Reflecting on their recent performances in the Japan Open 2025 and China Open 2025, Amri emphasized the importance of focus and mental strength when competing in high-level tournaments. Despite the setbacks, he acknowledged the valuable experiences gained from participating in these prestigious events. Amri highlighted the significant difference in pressure and intensity between regular training sessions and competitive matches at the super 750 and super 1000 levels.
